Your syllabus stays yours. Syllabus to Semester processes your PDF, Word, or PowerPoint document only to identify academic dates and return them for your review.
01 No permanent storage Your uploaded document is handled in memory during the request. The app does not save it to a database or file store.
02 Private credit passes No university login or calendar credentials are required. Purchased credits are linked to a private recovery code and an HttpOnly browser cookie. Save your code securely: anyone with it can use your credits. We store only its hash, not the code itself.
03 Limited processing Readable text is extracted in memory and sent to the current AI provider to identify course information and important dates. The request is configured not to be stored by the provider.
04 Privacy-focused analytics Vercel Web Analytics measures page visits and product actions using counts, document type, status categories, and campaign tags only. Uploaded files, filenames, course details, extracted text, calendar contents, names, and emails are never included.
Payments and credit records Stripe processes payments and may collect your email, billing details and card information. Card details never reach this app. The credit database stores a pseudonymous wallet identifier, hashed recovery code, Stripe purchase identifiers, and credit reservation and payment states. Documents and extracted results are not stored there. Payment identifiers, recovery codes and billing details are never sent to product analytics.
Failed processing and payment reversals A failed extraction releases its credit. An interrupted request may hold a credit for up to 90 seconds. Refunds or disputes disable unused credits from the affected purchase while the payment issue is resolved. Keep your Stripe receipt for purchase support. Losing both your recovery code and browser cookie loses access to the credit pass; email alone cannot restore it.
Abuse prevention We use short-lived, keyed hashes derived from the connection IP address to limit request attempts. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the credit ledger. Hosting and payment providers may retain their own security and transaction logs. Credit and payment records remain until administratively removed, subject to applicable recordkeeping requirements.
Local growth data This browser stores a first-touch campaign tag, a visit timestamp, and whether one or two syllabi have been successfully processed. Growth tracking does not use a fingerprint or your payment identity. Clearing browser storage removes the growth data and may remove access to credits unless you saved the recovery code.
Calendar reminders Reminder choices are written into the calendar file. Your calendar application—not this website—is responsible for delivering them after import.
Optional Apple Calendar subscriptions Downloading or sharing a calendar file stays local. Only when you explicitly agree and create a subscription do we store a read-only snapshot containing selected event titles, dates, times, locations, course code and reminders in Supabase. We exclude your document, notes, source quotes, instructor and filename. The snapshot remains until you delete it; later review edits do not update it automatically.
The unguessable subscription link allows anyone holding it, including your calendar provider, to read the snapshot. A separate private management link allows deletion. Links are saved in your browser; keep a backup of the management link before clearing browser data. We store token hashes, not the plaintext access keys. The management key stays in the URL fragment and is sent only in a request body when you check or delete the calendar. Calendar management pages are excluded from web analytics.
Deletion removes the snapshot from our active database and disables its link. A hashed revocation record remains to prevent retries restoring a deleted snapshot. Hosting infrastructure may record subscription request paths, and provider backups may retain deleted data under their retention policies. Deletion cannot erase copies already fetched by calendar apps or providers. Remove the subscribed calendar from your device separately. Manage or delete saved calendars .

Emails you send us are stored in our Zoho Mail business mailbox and used to respond to your request and maintain support records. Do not send recovery codes, passwords, card details, or unnecessary course documents.
